EcoTec is partnering with specialist plant manufacturers so as to adapt and align their important technologies in order to develop a hybrid manufacturing plant that can deliver a solution that will meet the following criteria:
- Capture and process the flared gas
- Eliminate carbon dioxide and methane emissions
- Eliminate the pollution of black soot and carcinogenic poisoning at the location
- Create local employment
- Produce in-demand green products in a growing market
- Harness solar/wind energy to power the plants as well as provide clean drinking water that can benefit local communities
- Provide a modular plant system that can be rapidly deployed and which can also be readily relocated/recommissioned as required
- The modular plant also takes into account the gas supply levels available, as all fields differ in the amount of gas being flared. The EcoTec solution provides for four separate module capacities so as to match the particular field’s gas output
Deployment
There are over 7,500 gas flaring sites in the world and there is no single answer to the problem of tackling this pollution. To reach the targets of the GGFR of zero flaring by 2030 many different solutions will have to be deployed, depending on the gas yield being flared and the location of the site, be it onshore or offshore.
Being modular in design the EcoTec solution, with its easy on-site installation, can be rapidly matched to the site’s gas output size. Additionally, the key plant and machinery elements are already mobile-skid built and affixed, so as to be easily connected and operational in a few days. The solar/wind power plant is shipped in advance for installation so as to enable the site to be fully self-powered and therefore operational as soon as the modular units are connected.
