The Solution
Having studied the problem, EcoTec appreciates that many of these oil fields are considered marginal and as such it’s too cost prohibitive to build a connecting pipeline to a main supply as in a number of years the oil field may be unproductive and the pipeline would then be redundant. Similarly, to build a production plant to process the gas at the oil field would be uneconomical.
However, the solution to the problem lies in building a gas conversion plant that is relocatable so that as an oil field becomes redundant the plant can be moved to another location, or even be re-commissioned to process a different product.
Essentially, the solution must also enable the flaring sites to qualify as green sites and as such requires the gas to be processed in its entirety, so that zero emissions are released. The plant will be solar/wind powered so that no fossil fuel power will need to be utilised.
